H x PUMA x THE 2TOP 'RETRO+FUTURE'

Concept : RETRO+FUTURE

We're happy to announce a collaborative art project between Union H (Director Heath Kim), Puma, and The 2Top. This project is the follow-up to [AGCT, THE RED SEOUL], which was released in 2022. Set in a 'Dystopian + Cyberpunk' setting, AGCT aims to create a new soccer culture in a devastated Seoul. The central characters of the world are Liv and Manu of THE 2TOP, who deliver a message of hope that soccer can be played again even in a dystopian world. The second installment, [RETRO+FUTURE], tells the story of the development of new PUMS' kits for The2Top, and features a futuristic sci-fi setting, the creation of the kit in a laboratory, and the protagonist's testing experiments. The design language is 'RETRO+FUTURE'. Together with RIV, the creative director of THE 2TOP, we reinterpreted the football mood of the past into a modern and futuristic atmosphere. We worked together on a range of projects including costume design, graphic design and motion graphics for the new The 2Top kit. For the motion graphics for the main kit , we applied a new pipeline [Unreal Engine + Blender + Cinema 4D + Particle + Houdini + ZBrush + Marvelous Designer + Substance Painter] that we built through R&D, and we achieved significant results in terms of reduced work time, lower operating costs, and higher quality.

유니온H (디렉터 히스킴), 푸마, 더투탑의 협업 아트 프로젝트를 공개합니다. 본 프로젝트는 2022년 공개된 [AGCT, 붉은 서울]의 뒤를 잇는 후속작입니다. AGCT는 ‘디스토피아+사이버펑크’ 를 배경으로 황폐해진 서울에서 새로운 축구문화를 만드는 것을 목표로 합니다. 세계관의 중심인물은 더투탑의 ‘리브, 마누’이며, 이들은 ‘디스토피아 세상에서도 다시 축구를 시작할 수 있다’는 희망의 메시지를 전달합니다. 2편 [RETRO+FUTURE]에서는 더투탑이 입을 퓨마의 새로운 킷을 개발한다는 이야기전개를 갖고, 미래적인 SF 배경, 연구실에서 의상이 만들어지는 모습, 그것을 입고 테스트 실험을 거치는 주인공의 모습을 담았습니다. 디자인 언어는 ‘RETRO+FUTURE’입니다. 더투탑의 크리에이티브 디렉터 리브와 함께 과거 풋볼 무드를 현대적이고 미래적인 분위기로 재해석했습니다. 새로운 더투탑 킷의 의상디자인, 그래픽디자인 그리고 모션그래픽까지 여러 범위에 걸친 작업을 함께했습니다. 또한, 메인 킷 모션그래픽에서는 연구개발을 통해 새롭게 구축된 파이프라인 [언리얼엔진+블렌더+시네마4D+엑스파티클+후디니+지브러시+마블러스 디자이너+서브스턴스 페인터] 을 적용했으며, 결과적으로 작업시간 단축, 운영비 절감 그리고 퀄리티 상승의 유의미한 성과를 얻었습니다.
